Women's Basketball Takes Down Arrows to Open up 2026

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University women's basketball team defeated Ursuline on Monday evening (Jan 5), 82-41. The Saints overall record improves to 11-1 and 3-1 in conference.

First Half
  • Senior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) banged in a 3-point shot to get things started with 9:37 on the clock to put the Saints on the board 3-0.
  • Junior Desiree Tandy (Danville, Ky./Danville) knocked in two free throws to extend the lead to 9-2 with 5:37 to play in the quarter.
  • Junior Izzy Rotert (Harrison, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) made throws for the final points of the quarter with 15 seconds to go to give the Saints a 21-4 lead going into the second quarter.
  • Senior Sereniti Webb kicked off the second quarter with a layup with 9:15 to play the half to put the Saints up 23-6.
  • With 5:25 to play in the half, junior Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, Ohio/Tri-Village) drove to the rim for a layup to extend the Saints lead to 33-13.
  • Rylee Turner would seal the lead in the first with a layup with 25 second left to give the Saints a 45-20 lead going into the locker room at the half.
  • Rylee Turner led the team with 13 points and seven rebounds and had three assists.
  • Redshirt sophomore Rylee Leonard (Sardina, Ohio/Eastern Brown) led with four assists and had seven points and one rebound.
  • The Saints were 47.1% (16-34) from the field, 16.7% (2-12) from the 3-point line, and 78.6% (11-14) from the free throw line in the first half.
Second Half
  • Rylee Leonard started off the second half with a layup with 8:06 on the clock to put the Saints up 47-24.
  • Desiree Tandy knocked in two free throws to make it a 55-29 game with 4:08 to play.
  • With 1:11 left in the quarter, sophomore Amara Jackson (Huntington, WV/Huntington) hit a jumper for the Saints final basket of the quarter.
  • The Saints would lead 64-33 going into the final quarter.
  • Izzy Rotert made a driving layup to kick off the fourth quarter to put the Saints up 66-35 with 8:51 to play in the game. 
  • First year Alyssa Murphy (Elizabeth, Ind./Corydon Central) made her first collegiate basket with 6:40 on the clock to make it a 70-35 game. 
  • First year Jersey Paul (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) drained a 3-point basket for the Saints final basket of the game with 24 seconds on the clock (82-41).
  • The Saints secured the 82-41 win over the Arrows.
  • Rylee Leonard led the Saints in the second half with seven points and two assists.
  • Jersey Paul followed with six points.
  • The Saints were 42.9% (15-35) from the field, 29.4% (5-17), and 100% (2-2) from the free throw line in the second half.
