Women's Basketball Pick up Road Win Over Lake Erie

(PAINESVILLE, Ohio)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team defeat Lake Erie, 82-77. The Saints overall record improves to 16-2 and 8-2 in conference.

First Half
  • Senior Sereniti Webb (Covington, Ky./Simon Kenton) drove to the rim for a layup for the Saints first basket of the day with 9:08 on the clock (2-3).
  • Junior Desiree Tandy (Danville, Ky./Danville) made a layup to put the Saints within four with 5:15 to play in the quarter (8-12).
  • Sophomore Amara Jackson (Huntington, WV/Huntington) laid a ball in for the final basket of the quarter with 18 seconds left to make it a 18-22 game at the end of the first quarter.
  • Serenit Webb drove it the basket for a layup to start off the second quarter to with 9:44 to play in the half (18-22).
  • With 4:45 to play in the half, sophomore Kendall Sterling (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) drained a 3-point shot to five the Saints the go ahead lead (29-27).
  • Senior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) made a layup for the Saints final basket of the half with 26 seconds to play (33-29).
  • The Saints would lead 33-30 going into the locker room at the half.
  • Desiree Tandy led the team with eight points and four rebounds in the first half.
  • Rylee Turner tallied four assists to lead the team and had six points and one rebound.
  • The Saints were 51.7% (15-29) from the field, 16.7% (1-6) from the 3-point line, and 50% (2-4) from the free throw line in the first half.
Second Half
  • Junior Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, Ky./Tri-Village) hit a 3-point basket with 8:31 on the clock to start the scoring off for the Saints (36-30).
  • Desiree Tandy made a layup to put the Saints up 46-34 with 5:32 to play.
  • With 1:37 to play in the quarter, Desiree Tandy knocked in two free throws for the Saints final point of the quarter (61-46).

  • Rylee Turner made a layup to start things off in the fourth quarter with 9:26 on the clock to put the Saints up 63-53.
  • Rylee Turner made two free throws for the Saints final points with 12 seconds left (82-74).
  • The Saints would secure the 82-77 win over the Storm.
  • Rylee Leonard led the team with 15 points and had one rebound in the second half.
  • Morgan Hunt followed with nine points, two assist, and one rebound.
