Men's Basketball Falls to Kentucky Wesleyan

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team fell to Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday (Jan 22), 76-62 . The Saints overall record falls to 9-8 and 3-7 in conference.

• Redshirt first year Daniel Allen (Hodgensville, Ky./Larue County) kicked things off for the Saints by draining a 3-pointer to put the Saints in the board 3-0 with 19:44 on the clock.
• With 15:54 on the clock, Daniel Allen knocked in three free throws to close out the Saints 8-0 run over the Panthers (15-2).
• First year Colin McClure (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) made a 3-point basket to extend the Saints lead to 20-6 with 11:27 to play in the half.
• Senior Mitchell Rylee (Ft.Mitchell,, Ky./Covington Catholic) drove to the rim for a layup to put the Saints up 32-18 with 8:48 on the clock.
• Redshirt sophomore Jack McCune (Paducah, Ky./McCracken County) made one free throw with 2:13 to play for the Saints final point of the half.
• The Saints would lead 33-31 going into the locker room at the half.
• Daniel Allen led the Saints with six points and six rebounds in the first half.
• Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) led with four assists and had five points and two rebounds.
• The Saints were 45.8% (11-24) from the field, 46.2% (6-13) from the 3-point line, and 71.4% (5-7) from the free throw line.

• Sophomore Jashaun Pouncy (Erlanger, Ky./Cooper) made a layup to start things off in the second half with 19:38 on the clock (35-31).
• Kai Simpson drove the ball to the basket with 14:42 on the clock to make it a 42-38 game.
• With 11:04 to play, Mitchell Rylee made a hook shot to put the Saints back ahead 50-49.
• Mitchell Rylee laid a ball in with 4:48 to play to put the Saints within nine (58-70).
• Mitchell Rylee made the final basket of the game with 1:29 on the clock (62-76).
• The Saints would fall 76-62 to the Panthers.
• Mitchell Rylee led with 10 points and had two rebounds in the second half.
• The Saints were 46.4% (13-28) from the field, 10% (1-10) from the 3-point line, and 50% (2-4) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Mitchell Rylee led the team with 13 points and had five rebounds.
• Daniel Allen led with eight rebounds and had nine points.
• Jashaun Pouncy tallied 12 points and two rebounds.
• Kai Simpson led with seven assists and had 11 points and four rebounds.
