Men's Basketball Bounce Back with Win Over the Dragons

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeted Tiffin on Saturday (Jan 24), 82-54. The Saints overall record improves to 10-8 and 4-7 in conference.

• Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) hit a jump shot with 18:41 on the clock to get the scoring start for the Saints (2-3).
• Junior Carson Browne (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) drained a 3-point basket to help the Saints regain the lead with 15:36 to play in the half (10-7).
• Sophomore Jashaun Pouncy (Erlanger, Ky./Cooper) drove to the rim for a layup to put the Saints up 16-12 with 9:44 left in the half.
• With 5:23, Kai Simpson made a layup to extend the Saints lead to 21-14.
• First year Colin McClure (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) hit a jumper for the Saints final basket of the half to make it a 23-14 game.
• The Saints would lead 23-20 going into the locker room at the half.
• Kai Simpsom led the Saints with nine rebounds and had two rebounds.
• Redshirt junior Colin McHale (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) and redshirt first year Daniel Allen (Hodgensville, Ky./Larue County) both led with five rebounds in the first half.
• The Saints were 29.6% (8-27) from the field, 18.2% (2-11) from the 3-point line, and 100% (5-5) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Daniel Allen banged in a 3-point basket to get things started in the second half with 19:47 on the clock to make it a 26-20 game.
• Jashaun Pounchy dunked the ball in to extend the Saints lead to 38-30 with 15:22 left in the game.
• Carson Browne kncoked in a 3-point shot with 8:56 on the clock to make it a 55-36 game.
• Senior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) drove to the rim for a layup to extend the Saints lead to 68-45.
• Colin McClure made a 3-point basket of with 43 seconds left to secure the Saints 83-54 win over the Dragons.
• Daniel Allen tallied 22 points and had two rebounds to lead the Saints in the second half.
• The Saints were 76% (19-25) from the field, 75% (9-12) from the 3-point line, and 92.9% (13-14) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Daniel Allen led the Saints with 25 points and seven rebounds.
• Kai Simpson followed with 14 points, four assists, and two rebounds.
