Men's Lacrosse Drops at Tusculum to Wrap Up Non-Conference Slate

(TUSCULUM, TN) - The Thomas More men's lacrosse team fell at Tusculum on Wednesday (April, 16th) by a score of 26 to 13. Thomas More falls to an overall record of 2-11 on the season.

• Thomas More scored the first goal of the match coming from junior Joe Mariani (Warners, NY / Mater Dei) off an assist from graduate student Wyatt Fruland (Cincinnati, OH / Indian Hill).
• Tusculum took the lead with six straight goals to make it 6 to 1.
• Senior Colin Thornton (Grafton, MA / Grafton) got the Saints back in the scoring column with an unassisted goal.
• First year Camden Newell (Westerville, OH / Olentangy Orange) answered a Tusculum goal with one of his own to make it a 7 to 3 game.
• Tusculum added six more goals to make it a 13 to 3 game.
• Wyatt Fruland records another assist, this time to junior Spencer Lethbridge (Cleveland, OH / Olmsted Falls) to make it 13 to 4.
• Tusculum adds three more goals as the take a 16 to 4 lead.
• Sophomore Noah Koenig (Erlanger, KY / Dixie Heights) scores two goals, and Spencer Lethbridge record a goal to spark a Saint run and making it a nine goal game. Joe Mariani added an assist.
• Tusculum extends their lead with three more goals to make it 19 to 7.
• Wyatt Fruland ends the Tusculum run with an unassisted goal to make it 19 to 8.
• Spencer Lethbridge finds the goal in the closing seconds of the 3rd quarter to make it 19 to 9.
• Tusculum adds one more goal as we head to the final quarter with the score 20 to 9.
• Wyatt Fruland opened the final quarter with a goal off an assist from Joe Mariani to make it 20 to 10.
• Camden Newell answered a Tusculum goal with one of his own off an assist fron Noah Koenig with 10:08 to go.
• Tusculum scored four more goals during the middle of the 4th to make it a 25 to 11 game.
• Joe Mariani records another assist this time to Wyatt Fruland for the Saint goal with 2:32 to go to make the score 25 to 12.
• Tusculum scored and Wyatt Fruland answered with a goal off an assist from Spencer Lethbridge to make it a final score of 26 to 13.

• Wyatt Fruland led the Saints with 4 goals and 2 assists for 6 points. He also posted 5 ground balls on the day.
• Spencer Lethbridge tallied 3 goals and an assist with 4 ground balls and a caused turnover in the game.
