Fruland Scores Four Goals in Loss to Cavaliers

(North Canton, OH) - The Thomas More men's lacrosse team fell to Walsh on Saturday afternoon (April, 12th) by a final score of 23 to 11. Thomas More moves to an overall record of 2-10 on the season and 1-7 in G-MAC play.

How they scored
  • Graduate student Wyatt Fruland (Cincinnati, OH / Indian Hill) scored the first goal of the day in the first five seconds of the match of an assist from sophomore Stephen Schodowski (Chula Vista, CA / St. Augustine).
  • Walsh scored the next 18 goals to take the lead into the second half.
  • Wyatt Fruland scored the next two Saint goals off assists from sophomore Noah Koenig (Erlanger, KY / Dixie Heights). (3-19)
  • Junior Joe Mariani (Warners, NY / Mater Dei) scored with 10:13 to go in the third to make it a 19 to 4 game.
  • Walsh extended their lead with 3 more goals to make it 22 to 4.
  • Wyatt Fruland, junior Graham Houser (Hilliard, OH / St. Charles), and first year Colin Scalise (Westerville, OH / Thomas Worthington) scored unassisted goals to cut into the Walsh lead. (7-22)
  • Noah Koenig and first year Jase Macaulay (Port Dover, Canada / Holy Trinity) continue the Saint run with unassisted goals to make it 22 to 9.
  • Joe Mariani scored off an assist from sophomore Jackson Goetz (Edgewood, KY / Dixie Heights) and Stephen Schodowski added an unassisted goal to make it a 22 to 11 game.
  • Walsh scored one more goal to make it a 23 to 11 final.
