(HILLSDALE, Mich)-Thomas More University's baseball team split day two of their series against Hillsdale on Saturday afternoon (March 29) falling 9-3 in game one and winning 8-7 in game two. The Saints overall record is now to 8-18 and 3-9 in conference.
Game one: Hillsdale 9-3
- Hillsdale scored two runs in the first inning to take an early lead.
- Hillsdale added to their lead with a run in the 4th and one in the 5th to make it 4 to 0.
- In the top of the 6th, first year Miguel Correa Jr. (Avon, IN / Avon) hits a two RBI single to make it a 4 to 2 game.
- Also in the 6th, senior Derek Marinucci (Canton, MI / Divine Child) hit an RBI single to bring the Saints within one run.
- Hillsdale extended their lead with 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th.
Game two: Thomas More 8-7
- First year Drew Barth (Fort Thomas, KY / Highlands) singled home a run in the top of the 2nd inning to put the Saints out in front.
- Hillsdale hit a go ahead home run in the 6th to lead 2 to 1.
- Barth continued his good day with an RBI single in the 7th to tie the game at 2.
- Saints continued a strong 7th inning with an RBI single from sophomore Matt Resing (Independence, KY / St. Henry) and an RBI double from junior Riley Poston (Lancaster, OH / Lancaster). (4-2)
- Senior Ben Duncan (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Bradley) hit a two RBI single to left to extend the lead to 4.
- Senior Gaving Vogelgesang (Cincinnati, Oh / St. Xavier) hit an RBI single, and Miguel Correa Jr. capped off the 7th with an RBI double to make it an 8 to 2 game.
- Hillsdale scored 1 in the 8th, and 4 in the 9th to make it an 8 to 7 final.

- Senior Jackson Grimmelsman (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) pitched 5.1 innings. He allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits in the game.
- First year Aaron Wichmann (Burlington, KY / Conner) pitched 0.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits.
Game two:
- First year Dylan Thompson (Cincinnati, Oh / St. Xavier) got the start and pitched 6.0 innings. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits and struck out 3. He got the win (first of his career).
- First year Jeff Levin (Cincinnati, OH / CHCA) came in and pitched 3.0 innings. He allowed 5 runs on 8 hits and picked up the save.

The Saints return on Tuesday (April, 1st) when they travel to Frankfort, KY to take on Kentucky State. That game is set to begin at 2:00 PM.
