Men's Lacrosse Picks Conference Victory on the Road

(MIDLAND, MI) - Thomas More Universitys Men's Lacrosse team traveled to take on Northwood on Saturday (March, 1st) afternoon. The Saints defeated the Timberwolves by a final score of 12 to 11. The Saints move to 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in G-MAC play.

• Northwood scored the first goal of the day to take the early lead.
• Junior Joe Mariani (Warners, NY / Mater Dei Academy) answers with an unassisted goal to tie the game at 1.
• Northwood retakes the lead with three consecutive goals to make it 4 to 1.
• Junior Graham Houser (Hilliard, OH / St. Charles) finds the back of the net off an assist from junior Spencer Lethbridge (Cleveland, OH / Olmsted Falls) for the first goal of the second quarter (2-4).
• Junior James Kendrick (Springboro, OH / Springboro) answers a Northwood goal with one of his own to keep the score at 5 to 3 Northwood.
• James Kendrick answers another Northwood goal with his second of the day to send us to halftime with the score 6 to 4 in favor of the Timberwolves.
• Sophomore Noah Koenig (Erlanger, KY / Dixie Heights) scores unassisted to open the second half making it a one goal game.
• First year Camden Newell (Westerville, OH / Olentangy Orange) answers a Northwood goal with an unassisted goal himself to keep the score at 7 to 6.
• Sophomore Stephen Schodowki (Chula Vista, CA / St. Augustine) scores with 8:23 to go to make it a one goal game.
• Northwood scores three straight goals to take an 11 to 7 lead.
• Spencer Lethbridge gets the momentum back for the Saints with a goal off an assist from graduate student Wyatt Fruland (Cincinnati, OH / Indian Hill).
• James Kendrick scores his third goal of the day, and senior Colin Thornton (Grafton, MA / Grafton) scores on an assist from Fruland to send us to the final quarter with the Saints behind 11 to 10.
• Camden Newell ties the game with 10:18 to play with an unassisted goal.
• With 2:34 to go, Spencer Lethbridge scores the go-ahead goal to put the Saints in front 12 to 11.

• James Kendrick recorded a team high 3 goals on the day for the Saints.
• Spencer Lethbridge recorded the game winning goal to go with his 3 points on the day.
• Stephen Schodowski recorded 10 face-off wins and a goal.
• Junior goalie Trevor Almanza (Cincinnati, OH / Fairfield) tallied 8 saves in the match.

• The Saints will return to action on Saturday (March, 8th) when they host Lake Erie at Republic Bank Field. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
