Baseball Opens the Season with a Sweep Against WV Wesleyan

(FLORENCE, KY)- Thomas More's baseball team swept West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday (February 14th) afternoon with a game one win by score of 3 to 1 and a game two score of 4 to 0. Thomas More starts the season 2-0.

Game 1: Thomas More 3-1 (7 innings)
  • In the second inning, junior Riley Poston (Lancaster, OH / Lancaster) hit an RBI triple to bring home senior catcher Derek Marinucci (Canton, MI / Divine Child) and give the Saints a 1-0 lead.
  • WV Wesleyan ties the game in the 4th on an unearned run.
  • In the bottom of the 5th, Thomas More scores a pair of runs off RBI hits from senior Gavin Vogelgesang (Cincinnati, OH / St. Xavier) and junior Gunner Kalkhoff (Cincinnati, OH / LaSalle).
