Women's Basketball Falls to #11 Ashland on the Road

(ASHLAND, Ohio)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team feel to #11 Ashland on Saturday afternoon, 78-47. The Saints overall record fell to 8-13 and 5-8 in conference.

• Junior Sereniti Webb (Covington, Ky./Simon Kenton) made a layup to get things started with 6:35 on the clock (2-7).
• Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) drove in a layup for the Saints final basket of the quarter with five seconds remaining (9-19).
• Junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, Ohio/Wheelersburg) drained a 3-point basket to kick off the second quarter with 8:50 to play in the half (12-19).
• Sereniti Webb made a layup and one for the Saints final basket of the half with 24 seconds left (23-44).
• The Saints trailed 46-23 going into the locker room at the half.
• Sereniti Webb led with nine points and five rebounds.
• The Saints were 33.3% (9-27) from the field, 50% (3-6) from the 3-point line, and 33.3% (2-6) from the free throw line.

• With 9:22 to play in the third quarter, Rylee Turner made a layup to start things off in the second half (25-49).
• First year Amara Jackson (Huntington, WV/Huntington) made one free throw for the final point of the third quarter (30-63).
• Sophomore Anna Swisshelm (Felicity, Ohio/West Clermont) hit a jump shot with 9:38 on the clock to start things off in the fourth quarter (32-63).
• Junior Natalie Noel (Salem, Ind./Salem) knocked in two free throws for the Saints final points of the game with 1:11 remaining (47-76).
• The Saints fell to the Eagles 78-47.
• Laney Baker led with six points in the second half.
• The Saints were 31.8% (7-22) from the field, 33.3% (1-3) from the 3-point line, and 75% (9-12) from the free throw line.

• Sereniti Webb led the Saints with nine points and five rebounds.
• Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, Ind./East Central) also tallied nine points and two assists to lead the Saints and had one rebound.
• The Saints were 32.7% (16-49) from the field, 44.4% (4-9) from the 3-point line, and 61.1% (11-18) from the free throw line.

The Saints return on Thursday (Feb 6) in the Connor Convocation Center at 5:30 pm ET against Hillsdale.
