Men's Basketball Secures First Conference Win of the Season Over Cedarville

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Cedarville on Saturday afternoon (Dec 6), 86-78. The Saints overall record improves to 4-1 and 1-1 in conference.

• Senior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) made a layup to kick things off in the first half to put the Saints on the board 2-0.
• Redshirt first year Daniel Allen (Hodgenville, Ky./Larue County) drained a 3-point shot with 16:49 on the clock to put the Saints up 10-5.
• Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky./Frederick Douglass) made a tip-in to tie things up at 19-19 with 11:09 to play in the first half.
• First year Colin McClure (Columbus, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) hit a jump shot with 3:50 remaining to help the Saints regain the lead (31-29).
• Kai Simpson knocked in a 3-point basket with 1:08 left to make it a 38-30 game.
• The Saints would lead 38-33 going into the locker room at the half.
• Daniel Allen led the team in the first half with 11 points and three rebounds and had one assist.
• Kai Simpson followed with 10 points and three rebounds and had one assist.
• Mitchell Rylee recorded a team high of three assists and three rebounds and had four points.
• The Saints were 53.3% (16-30) from the field, 41.7% (5-12) from the 3-point line, and 50% (1-2) from the free throw line in the first half. 

• Mitchell Rylee started the scoring off in the second half with a layup and one to extend the Saints lead to seven with 19:42 on the clock (40-33).
• Junior Carson Browne (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) knocked a 3-point shot with 15:21 to play to make it a 49-44 game.
• With 8:58 to play, Colin McClure hit a jumper to put the Saints up 58-53.
• Colin McHale drove to the rim for a layup with 4:32 to play (71-64).
• Colin McClure knocked in two free throws for the Saints final points of the game with 15 seconds left.
• The Saints secured the 86-78 win over the Yellow Jackets for their first conference win of the season.
• Colin McClure led the team with 14 points and had four rebounds in the second half.
• Colin McHale had nine points and one rebound.
• Mitchell Rylee led with five rebounds and had nine points and one assists.
• Kai Simpson also tallied five rebounds to lead the team and three assists and he recorded nine points.
• The Saints were 50% (12-24) from the field, 42.9% (3-7) from the 3-point line, and 67.7% (21-31) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Colin McClure led the Saints with 19 points and had four rebounds and one assist.
• Kai Simpson also led the team with 19 points and four assists and had seven rebounds.
• Mitchell Rylee recorded eight rebounds and four assists the lead the Saints and had 13 points.
• Colin McHale made his debut today for the Saints with 15 points and one rebounds.
• Daniel Allen tallied 13 points, three rebounds and one assist.
• The Saints were 51.9% (28-54) from the field, 42.1% (8-19) from the 3-point line, and 66.7% (22-33) from the free throw line.

The Saints return Thursday (Dec 10) against Boyce at 7:00 pm ET in the Connor Convocation Center.
