Men's Basketball Drops at Findlay to Open Conference Play

(FINDLAY, OH) - The Thomas More Men's Basketball team fell to the Findlay Oilers by a final score of 88 to 74. Thomas More drops to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in G-MAC play.

• Senior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, KY / Covington Catholic) got the Saints first points of the game on a layup off an assist from redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, KY / Frederick Douglass). (2-2)
• Junior Carson Browne (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) gave the Saints their first lead of the day with a three pointer off another Simpson assist. (5-2)
• With 16:27 left in the half, Mitchell Rylee slams one home off an assist from freshman Colin McClure (Columbus, OH / Dublin Coffman) to end a FIndlay run. (7-9)
• Kai Simpson follows with an and-one to put Thomas More back in front by one with 15:18 left in the half.
• Kai Simpson, Colin McClure and Mitchell Rylee spark a quick six point run with a bucket each to give the Saints a 16 to 11 lead with 13:13 left in the half.
• WIth 9:25 left in the half, sophomore Jashaun Pouncy (Erlanger, KY / Cooper) makes a bucket to tie the game at 21.
• Pouncy scored his second bucket of the half with 6:48 to go in the half to tie the game up once again at 25.
• Another Pouncy layup and some free throws down the stretch send the Saints to the locker room trailing by a score of 43 to 33.
• TMU shot 12-28 (42.9%) from the field, 1-11(9.1%) from three, and 8-16 (50%) from the free throw line for the half.
• Kai Simpson led the Saints in scoring with 7 to go along with 3 rebounds and 2 assists.
• Carson Browne recorded 6 points with a team high 4 rebounds.

• Kai Simpson scored the first bucket of the second half for Thomas More with a driving layup.
• Thomas More gets back to back buckets from Carson Browne and redshirt freshman Daniel Allen (Hodgenville, KY / Larue County) to cut into the Findlay lead early in the second half.
• With 14:35 to play, senior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Davidson) knocks down a triple to make the score 61 to 42.
• Daniel Allen follows with a three pointer of his own with 12:36 left in the game.
• Carson Browne brings the score to within 15 with a three pointer off an assist from Colin McClure with 11:18 left in the game.
• A Mitchell Rylee layup and a Ryan Paris three point jumper makes it a 75 to 59 score with 6:40 left to play.
• Kai Simpson scores on a driving layup with 4:44 to play to make it a 16 point game.
• Ryan Paris drains his third triple of the contest with 3:39 to go off a Kai Simpson assist.
• With 2:20 to go, Mitchell Rylee finds Kai Simpson for a driving layup to make it 86 to 70.
• Thomas More goes on to fall to the Findlay Oilers by a final score of 88 to 74.
• Thomas More shot 26-59 (44.1%) from the field, 6-24 (25%) from three and 16-25 (64%) from the free throw line for the game.

• Kai Simpson led the Saints in scoring with 15 points to go with 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
• Carson Browne tallied 11 points and 6 rebounds in the game.
• Colin McClure posted 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.
