Men's Basketball Falls to Drury on Saturday Afternoon

(ELSAH, Ill.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team fell to Drury on Saturday afternoon (November, 15th) at the Crossover Classic, 71-59. The Saints overall record moves to 1-1.

• Senior Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) got the scoring started with a layup to put the Saints in front at the 18:31 mark. (2-0)
• Redshirt sophomore Kai Simpson (Lexington, Ky.Fredrick Douglass) halts a Drury run with back to back buckets to tie the game up at six with 15:25 to go in the half.
• Redshirt first year Daniel Allen (Hodgenville, Ky./Larue County) knocks down a three pointer with 12:29 to go in the half off an assist from redshirt first year Carter Mallernee (Johnstown, Ohio/Northridge) to make it a three point game.
• Daniel Allen follows with another three pointer off an assist from Kai Simpson to tie the game at 14 with twelve minutes to go in the half.
• Kai Simpson finds sophomore Jashaun Pouncy (Erlanger, KY / Cooper) for a layup with 9:39 to go in the half to tie the game at 18.
• Daniel Allen drains his third triple of the first half off an assist from freshman Colin McClure (Columbus, OH / Dublin Coffman) to give Thomas More a 21 to 18 lead.
• With 5:29 to go in the half, Jashaun Pouncy makes a layup to put the Saints back in front by two.
• Carter Mallernee makes a three pointer with 3:41 on the clock to give Thomas More a 29 to 27 lead in a back and forth half.
• Thomas More heads to the locker room trailing 36 to 31 after the first half.
• Kai Simpson leads the Saints at the break with 10 points and 3 assists.
• Mitchell Rylee and sophomore Tyler Johnson (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) led the team in rebounding with 4.
• Daniel Allen hit three three-pointers for nine total points.
• Thomas More shot 12-27 (44.4%) from the field, 4-12 (33.3%) from three, and 3-8 (37.5%) from the free throw line in the half.
