Women's Basketball Falls to Findlay

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to Findlay on Thursday evening (January 9), 71-58. The Saints overall record falls to 6-8 and 3-3 in conference.

First Half
  • Sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, Ohio/Tri-Village) started things off for the Saints, driving to the rim for a layup with 9:06 on the clock (2-0).
  • Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, Ohio/East Central) banged knocked in a layup to put the Saints ahead 10-8 with 4:37 to play in the quarter.
  • Junior Natalie Noel (Salem, Ind./Salem) banged in a 3-point basket to make it a 15-13 game for the Saints final basket of the quarter.
  • The Saints trailed 17-15 at the end of the first quarter.
  • First year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, Ky./Mercer County) made one free throw to kick the scoring off for the Saints in the second quarter with 7:59 to play in the half (16-18).
  • With 5:43 to play in the half, Laney Baker made a driving layup to tie things up 20-20 all.
  • Junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, Ohio/Wheelersburg) drove to the rim for a layup for the Saints final basket of the half with 1:39 to play (27-34).

  • Three Saints tallied four points to lead the team and four Saints recorded three rebounds to lead the team in rebounds.

Second Half
  • Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) made a layup to start off the second off to with 9:49 on the clock (29-39).

  • With 6:18 to play, sophomore Desiree Tandy (Danville Ky./Danville) made a layup to make it a 52-64 game.
  • Rylee Turner scored the Saints final basket of the game with 4:03 to play (58-68).
  • The Saints would fall 71-58 to the Oilers.
  • Rylee Turner led with 10 points and four rebounds in the second half and two assists.
  • Anna Drakeford tallied four assists to lead the Saints.
