Women's Basketball Drops to Northwood on the Road

(MIDLAND, Mich.)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to Northwood on Saturday afternoon (77-63). The Saints overall record falls to 6-7 and 3-2 in conference.

• Junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, Ky./Simon Kenton) kicked things off with 8:47 on the clock with a layup to put the Saints up 2-0.
• Junior Natalie Noel (Salem, Ind./Salem) knocked in a 3-point shot with 5:01 to play in the quarter to make it a 8-6 game.
• Sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, Ohio/Tri-Village) scored the final basket of the quarter to put the Saints up 12-8 at the end of the first quarter.
• Morgan Hunt started the scoring off in the second quarter with a layup to extend the Saints lead to 14-8 with 9:38 to play in the half.
• With 2:39 to play, Sereniti Webb made two free throws to make it a 25-18 game.
• Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, Ind./East Central) hit a jump shot with 26 seconds to play to put the Saints up 32-27.
• The Saints led 32-29 going into the locker room at the half.
• Morgan Hunt led with nine points and two assists in the first half and had three rebounds.
• Sereniti Webb also had nine points to lead the team and had four rebounds.
• Junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, Ohio/Wheelersburg) recorded five rebounds to lead the team.
• The Saints were 43.3% (13-30) from the field, 22.2% (2-9) from the 3-point line, and 80% (4-5) from the free throw line in the first half. 

• Anna Drakeford laid in a basket with 9:24 in the third quarter to put the Saints up 34-31.
• Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) made a layup to help the Saints regain the lead with 6:31 to play (41-40).
• Laney Baker made a free throw with 24 seconds left for the final point of the third quarter.
• The Saints trailed 49-51 going into the final quarter.
• Sereniti Webb made a layup to start things off for the Saints in the fourth quarter with 8:51 to play (51-53).
• With 5:48 to play, Sereniti Webb made a layup to make it a 55-60 game.
• Laney Baker made the Saints final basket with 2:16 to play (63-71).
• The Saints would fall 77-63 to the Timberwolves.
• Morgan Hunt led with 11 points and two assists in the second half and had three rebounds.
• Rylee Turned tallied five rebounds to lead the Saints.
• The Saints were 38.7% (12-31) from the field, 18.2% (2-11) from the 3-point line, and 55.6% (5-9) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Morgan Hunt scored a career high of 20 points to lead the team and four assists and had six rebounds.
• Sereniti Webb followed with 15 points, five rebounds, and one assist.
• Rylee Turner led with eight rebounds and had three points and two assists.
• The Saints were 41% (25-61) from the field, 20% (4-20) from the 3-point line, and 64.3% (9-14) from the free throw line.

The Saints return to action Thursday (January 9) against Findlay in the Connor Convocation Center at 5:30 pm.
