Storm Snap the Saints Win Streak in Sunday Action

(Painesville, OH) - The Thomas More women's volleyball team faced off against Lake Erie College on Sunday (September 29) in their second away conference game.  Lake Erie beat the Saints in a hard fought 4 sets.  The team is now 9-5 overall and 4-1 in conference.

 

Lake Erie defeats Thomas More, 3-1.

• Lake Erie won the opening set 26 to 24.
• Lake Erie won the second set 25 to 23.
• Thomas More took the third set 25 to 20.
• Lake Erie took the match in the fourth set 25 to 20.

 

• Junior Emily Acito (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy McAuley) led the Saints in kills with 15.
• Senior Sam McClanahan (Georgetown, KY/Scott County) led the Saints in assists with 22.
• Junior Matilde Giamberini (Gornate Olona, Italy, Liceo Curie) led in blocks with 4.
• Senior Ruthie Neu (Greenwood, IN/Roncalli) and Freshman Kat Koepke (New Haven, IN/ New Haven Senior) led in service aces with two each.
• Senior Asia Ferrando (Masone, Italy/Barletti Ovada) led the match in digs with 18.

 

• The Thomas More women's volleyball team returns to play on Friday (October 4) against Northwood University at Northwood.  The match is set for 7:00 PM.
