Football Stomps KCU to Claim First Victory of the Season

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) – The Thomas More University football team defeated the Knights of Kentucky Christian on Saturday night (September, 14th) by a score of 50 to 0. The Saints move to a record of 1-1 on the season.

  • Thomas More graduate student quarterback Rae'Von Vaden (Louisville, KY / Marion C. Moore) found junior Preston Agee (Alexandria, KY / Covington Catholic) for a 16 yard touchdown pass. After the junior Luke Iden (Taylor Mill, KY / Scott) extra point, the score was 7 to 0.
  • With 1:22 to go in the quarter Vaden tosses another touchdown pass, this time to junior tight end Mike Kirch (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) for a 22 yard score. Iden makes the PAT to make it a 14 to 0 game.

  • Redshirt junior Jaden Hall (Springfield, OH / Shawnee) got the scoring going when he caught a 10 yard touchdown pass from Vaden. Iden made the PAT to extend the lead to 21.
  • With 4:40 to go, Luke Iden makes a 29 yard field goal that would send the Saints to the locker room at halftime up 24 to 0.
  • Luke Iden got the scoring started in the second half with a 40 yard field goal to make it 27 to 0.
  • The TMU defense forces a three and out, and freshman Avery Bodner (Danville, KY / Boyle County) breaks thru the line and blocks the punt. He recovered it in the end zone for a Saint touchdown. The PAT was blocked making it 33 to 0.
  • Jaden Hall would cap the third quarter with a 20 yard touchdown run. The PAT made it a 40 to 0 game.

  • Luke Iden knocks a 36 yard field goal good to extend the lead to 43.
  • Redshirt freshman quarterback Griffin Scalf, runs the ball into the endzone with 8:06 to go. The Iden PAT was good to make it 50 to 0.

  • Rae'Von Vaden tossed for 217 yards on 17 completions and 3 touchdowns. 
  • Jaden Hall racked up 128 yards on the ground for the Saints along with 32 yards receiving. He also tallied 2 touchdowns.
  • Junior Japhia Kennedy recorded a team high 8 tackles including 1.5 tackles for loss.
  • Luke Iden recorded 14 total points in the game. Including 3 field goals.

The football team will return to action next Saturday (September, 21st) when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on Ohio Dominican. Kickoff is set for 1:00 P.M.
