(OWENSBORO, KY) - The Thomas More baseball team fell in both game of a doubleheader to Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday (April, 6th). Saints dropped the first game by a score of 4 to 0, and came up short in game two by a score of 6 to 3. Thomas More falls to an overall record of 10-22 and 3-15 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
Game 1: Kentucky Wesleyan 4-0 (7 innings
- KWC took the early lead with an RBI double in the 1st.
- KWC added to their lead with a 3 run home run in the 5th.
Game 2: Kentucky Wesleyan 6-3
- In the top of the 1st, senior Gavin Pearson (Burlington, KY / Cooper) hit a sacrifice fly to give the Saints a 1 to 0 lead.
- KWC tied the game in the bottom of the first with a run.
- KWC pushed 3 runs across in the 4th to make it 4 to 1.
- KWC added a run in the 5th and another in the 6th to make it 6 to 1.
- First year Tanner Gray (Williamstown, KY / Williamstown) hit an RBI single in the 7th to make it 6-2.
- Pearson hits his second sacrifice fly of the game to make it a 6 to 3 game.
Game 1:
- First year Sam Bond (St. Leon, IN / East Central) went 1 for 3 at the plate for the Saints.
- Sophomore Gunner Kalkhoff (Cincinnati, OH / LaSalle) went 1-2 in the game.
Game 2:
- Junior Ben Duncan (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Bradley) went 2-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored.
- Gavin Pearson went 1-3 with 2 RBIs in the game.
- Tanner Gray went 1-2 with an RBI for the Saints.
