Saints Down Tiffin, Wins Program's First G-MAC Tournament Game

(TIFFIN, OH) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team defeated the number 4 seeded Tiffin Dragons on Saturday (April, 27th) afternoon by a score of 15 to 5 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Quarterfinals. The win marks the first postseason win for the program in the G-MAC. Thomas More improves to an overall record of 4-13 on the season. 

How they scored
  • First year Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) got the Saints started with a goal off an assist from first year Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland).
  • Anna Wells tallied her second goal of the day to make it a 2 to 0 start for the Saints.
  • Following a Tiffin goal, senior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) found the goal thanks to an assist from Alex Nunn.
  • Sophomore Meg Pierani (Bright, IN / Mercy McAuley) adds a goal off an assist from sophomore Sarah Metz (Middletown, OH / Little Miami) to extend the Saint lead to 3.
  • Anna Wells made it a 5 to 1 game with her third goal of the day.
  • Alex Nunn tallied back to back unassisted goals to make it a 7 to 1 game.
  • Tiffin gets their second goal of the day to make it 7 to 2.
  • Meg Pierani found Sarah Metz for a goal to push the lead back to 6.
  • Anna Wells recorded her 4th goal of the day to make it 9 to 2.
  • After a Tiffin goal, Sarah Metz scored her second of the day off an assist from Anna Wells (10-3).
  • Tiffin opened the 4th quarter with a goal to make it 10 to 4.
  • Senior Mckenzie Mobley (Harrison, OH / Harrison) scored off an assist from Alex Nunn with 9:39 to go.
  • Following a Tiffin goal, Alex Nunn and Meg Pierani scored unassisted goals to make it 13 to 5.
  • Anna Wells adds two goals in the closing minutes to make it a 15 to 5 contest.

 
  • Anna Wells led the Saints offense with 6 goals and 1 assist on the day.

  • First year goalie Kaylynn White (Fort Bragg, KY / Louisville Male) tallied 11 saves on the day.

 

The Saints will return to action next Thursday (May, 2nd) when they travel to face Walsh in the G-MAC Semifinals.
