(NORTH CANTON, OH) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team fell to the number 1 seeded Walsh Cavaliers on Thursday (May, 2nd) afternoon by a score of 18 to 7 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Semifinals. Thomas More closes the inaugeral NCAA Division II season with an overall record of 4-14
- Walsh scored 2 quick goals to take the early lead.
- First year Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) got the Saints on the scoreboard with an unassisted goal.
- Walsh added 7 more goals to make it a 9 to 1 game.
- Sophomore Meg Pierani (Bright, IN / Mercy McAuley) ended the run with an unassisted goal to make it 9 to 2.
- Walsh made it a 13 to 2 game as we entered the second half.
- First year Alexis Denman (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) scored to make it a 13 to 3 game.
- Senior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) recorded back to back goals for the Saints.
- Meg Pierani tallied her second goal of the game off an assist from Alexis Denman to cut it to 7.
- Walsh responded with 2 goals to make it 15 to 6 as we head to the final quarter.
- Madi Carle recorded her third goal of the game to open the final quarter (15-7)
- Walsh scored 3 goals to make it an 18 to 7 final.
- Madi Carle tallied 3 goals on the day to go with 3 caused turnover, and 5 ground balls. She broke the single season caused turnover record with 56.
- Meg Pierani recorded 2 goals on the day for the Saints.
The Saints will return next spring for the 2025 season.
