Greyhounds Sweep Saints in Non-Conference Doubleheader

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to UIndy on Wednesday afternoon (April 24), 9-2 in game one (8-innings) and 5-0 in game two. The Saints overall record falls to 14-31.


Game 1: UIndy 9-2 in 8-innings

• UIndy scored one run in the top of the third inning (0-1).
• In the bottom of the third inning, sophomore Ashtyn Elbe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) beat the throw to home from a hit ball to the shortstop by graduate student Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) 1-1. Graduate student Sydney Bledsoe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) scored on a fielder's choice hit by first year Anna Greenwell (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Highlands) to make it a 2-1 game.
• UIndy scored one run in the top of the fifth and seven runs in the top of the eighth inning (2-9).

Game 2:

• UIndy scored two runs in the first, one run in the fourth inning, and two runs in the fifth inning (0-5).

Game 1:

• Hailey McAdoo was 1-4 with one RBI.
• Junior Josie Wefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) went 1-3.

Game 2:

• Hailey McAdoo was 2-4 with a double.
• Anna Greenwell was 1-3 with a double.
• Graduate student Becca Mowen (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) was 1-2.

Game 1:

• Graduate student Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched 7.2 innings, allowing nine runs with eight earned off 14 hits and struck out three.
• First year Olivia Dumm (Williamsport, Ohio/Westfall) pitched 0.1 innings, allowing no runs off one hit.

Game 2:

• First year Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) pitched 7.0 innings, allowing five runs with three earned off 10 hits and struck out 10.

The Saints return for their season finale this weekend beginning Friday (April 16) in a double header against Trevecca Nazarene beginning at 2:00 pm ET.
