Softball Splits Series Against Malone

(CANTON, OH)-Thomas More University's softball team split their double header against Malone on Sunday (April 21) with fall in game one 3-2 and winning game two 16-5 (5-innings). The Saints overall record is now 14-30 and 8-14 in conference.

How they scored
Game 1: Malone 3-2
  • Senior Kai Dickerson (Walton, Ky./Ryle) singled in the top of the first inning to score graduate student Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) to put the Saints up 1-0.
  • Malone scored two runs in the third innning and one run in the fifth inning (1-3).
  • In the top of the sixth inning, junior Josie Wefer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) doubled to score first year Anna Greenwell (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Highlands) to put the Saints within one (2-3).
Game 2: Thomas More 16-5 (5-innings)
Game 1: Game 2:
  • Hailey McAdoo was 4-5 at the plate with three RBIs and scored one run.
  • Josie Wefer went 3-3 with one RBI, one double, one home run, and scored three runs.
  • Ashtyn Elbe was 2-2 with four RBIS, one home run, and scored two runs.
  • Sydney Bledsoe was 2-3 with a triple and scored two runs.
  • Sarah Caruso at the plate was 2-4 with one RBI, a double, and scored two runs. Makayla Blair was 1-2 with a double. two RBIs, and scored one run.

Game 1:
  • Graduate student Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched 6.0 innings, allowing three runs with two earned off nine hits and struck out six.
Game 2:
  • First Year Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) pitched 4.1 innings, allowing one earned run off five hits and struck out three.
  • Senior Cassidy King (Hubber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) pitched 0.2 innings, allowing four runs with one earned off six hits.
