Women's Lacrosse Falls to the Oilers on Wednesday

(FINDLAY, OH) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team fell to the Findlay Oilers by a score of 18 to 6 on Wednesday afternoon (April, 10th). Thomas More is now 1-13 overall on the season and 1-4 in G-MAC play.

How they scored
  • Findlay sprinted out to an early lead by scoring the first 5 goals of the game.
  • First year Anna Wells (West Chester, OH / Lakota West) tallied the first Saint goal to make it 5 to 1.
  • Sophomore Meg Pierani (Bright, IN / Mercy McAuley) found the goal off a pass from senior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) to make it a 5 to 2 game.
  • Saints opened the second quarter with an Anna Wells goal to make it a 2 goal game.
  • Findlay adds five more goals before half to make it 10 to 3.
  • Anna Wells scores her third of the game to open the second half to make it a 10 to 4 game.
  • Following a Findlay goal, senior Mckenzie Mobley (Harrison, OH / Harrison) scores on a pass from Anna Wells to make it 11 to 5.
  • Findlay adds two more goals to end the third quarter at 13 to 5.
  • Anna Wells scores her 4th goal of the day on an assist from first year Alex Nunn (Loveland, OH / Loveland) to make the score 13 to 6.
  • Findlay adds five more goals to extend their lead to 18 to 6.
 
  • Anna Wells led the Saints with 4 goals and an assist on the day. She also added a ground ball and a caused turnover.
  • Madi Carle recorded a team high 4 caused turnovers to go with a team high 7 ground balls and an assist on the day.
  • Junior Eva Kinwel (Arnhem, Netherlands / Beekdal Lyceum) tallied 3 ground balls and 3 caused turnovers in the game.

 

The Saints will return to action on Wednesday (April, 17th) when they travel to face Lake Erie in Painesville, OH. That game is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM.
