Softball Drops Three in Day Two of Spring Games

(JAN PHYL VILLAGE, FL)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to today to St. Cloud State 9-1, Queens College 9-2, and to UMary 5-4. The Saints overall record falls to 2-12.

How they scored
Game 1: St. Cloud State 9-1
  • Graduate student Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first inning to put the Saints on the board 1-0.
  • SCSU scored four runs in the bottom of the first, four runs in the bottom of the third, and one run in the bottom of the fourth (1-9).
Game 2: Queens College 9-2
  • Queens scored four runs in the top of the first inning, one run in the top of the second inning, and one run in the top of the fifth inning (0-7).
  • Hailey McAdoo singled to score Adi Johnson and Sydney Bledsoe in the bottom of the fifth inning (2-7).
  • Queens scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning (2-9).
Game 3: UMary 5-4
  • UMary scored one run in the bottom of the second inning (0-1).
  • Anna Greenwell singled to center field to score Hailey McAdoo in the top of the third to tie the game up at 1-1.
  • UMary scored one run in the bottom of the third inning (1-2).
  • In the top of the fourth inning, Hailey McAdoo doubled to left field to send in senior Kai Dickerson (Walton, Ky./Ryle) and sophomore Sophia Thoma (Cleves, Ohio/Taylor) to put the Saints ahead 3-2.
  • Kai Dickerson hit a sac fly to center field in the top of the fifth to score Sophia Thoma (4-2).
  • UMary scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning (4-5).

  • First year Adi Johnson (Ross, Ohio/Ross) went 2-2 at the plate.
  • Graduate student Becca Mowen (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) was 1-2 at the plate.
  • Senior Sarah Caruso (Rootstown, Ohio/Rootstown) was 1-2 at the plate.

Game 1:
  • Graduate student Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched 2.0 innings, allowing six earned runs off six hits.
  • Senior Cassidy King (Hubber Heights, Ohio/Wayne) pitched 1.1 innings, allowing three runs with one earned off three hits and struck out two.
Game 2:
  • First year Olivia Dumm (Williamsport, Ohio/Westfall) pitched 3.0 innings, allowing six earned runs off five hits and struck out three.
  • Junior Emma Kent (Hamilton, Ohio/Badin) pitched 3.0 innings, allowing three earned runs off four hits and struck out two.
  • First year Alayna Crouch (Hamilton, Ohio/Ross) pitched 1.0 innnings, allowing no runs off one hit.
Game 3:
  • First year Kyle Ropp (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Kenton Ridge) pitched 5.0 innings, allowing two earned runs off seven hits and struck out one.
  • Annika Gels pitched 1.0 innings, allowing three runs with two being earned off three hits and struck out two.
