(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) - The Thomas More baseball team fell in both game of a doubleheader to Ohio Dominican on Saturday (March, 30th) afternoon. ODU won the opening game by a score of 14 to 4 in 7 innings. The Panthers took game two by a score 14 of 7 . Thomas More drops to an overall record of 10-18 on the season and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference record of 3-11.
Game 1: Ohio Dominican 14-4 (7 innings)
- A two run home run in the top of the 3rd gives ODU a 2-0 lead.
- In the bottom of the third, junior Gavin Vogelgesang (Cincinnati, OH / St. Xavier) hits an RBI single to make it 2 to 1.
- ODU pushes 11 runs across in the 4th to take a 13 to 1 lead.
- In the bottom half of the 4th, sophomore Gunner Kalkhoff (Cincinnati, OH / LaSalle) hits an RBI single to add a run for the Saints.
- In the 5th inning, junior Ben Duncan (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Bradley) hits an RBI double to make it 13 to 3.
- Duncan comes up later in the inning thanks to a sacrifice fly from first year Matt Resing (Independence, KY / St. Henry).
- ODU scores one in the 7th to make it 14 to 4.
Game 2: Ohio Dominican 14-7
- ODU opened the game with three runs in the first inning.
- In the bottom of the first, senior Brady Baldock (Burlington, KY / St. Henry) hits a 2 RBI double to make it a 3 to 2 game.
- Matt Resing will bring a Saint home with a RBI ground out to make it a tie game.
- ODU would add four more in the second to make it 7 to 3.
- In the top of the second, junior AJ Enginger (Hamilton, OH / Badin) scores on a passed ball and Gaving Vogelgesang scores on a wild pitch to make it 7 to 5.
- ODU added five more runs in the 3rd to make the score 12 to 5.
- In the bottom half of the 3rd, AJ Enginger hits an RBI single to make it a 6 run game.
- Matt Resing hits an RBI single in the 7th to make it 12 to 7.
- ODU adds two runs in the 8th to make it 14 to 7.
Game 1:
- Gavin Vogelgesang went a perfect 3-3 at the plate with a triple, RBI and run scored.
- Ben Duncan went 1-2 at the plate with a double, RBI and run scored.
- First year Noah McCarty (Louisville, KY / Christian Academy) went 1-2 with a double in the game.

- Junior Austin Dennis (Cincinnati, OH / Oak Hills) got the start and went 3.0 innings allowing 7 runs on 8 hits and struck out 2.
- Sophomore Cody Watkins (Cincinnati, OH / Lakota East) pitched 0.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 2 hits.
- First year Ethan Stone (Hamilton, OH / Hamilton) pitched 1.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits with a strikeout.
- Ben Duncan pitched 2.0 innings, allowing 1 run and struck out 1.
Game 2:
- First year Nolan Krekeler (Loveland, OH / Moeller) got the start and pitched 2.0 innings, allowing 7 runs on 6 hits with 2 strike outs.
- Junior Jackson Grimmelsmans (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) pitched 6.0 innings, allowing 7 runs on 9 hits and struck out 3.
- First year Joe Stone (Waynesville, OH / Waynesville) pitched 1.0 innings and did not allow a run.
The Saints return this week when they travel to face Kentucky State on Tuesday (April, 2nd) at 2:00 PM.
