Saints Swept by Ashland in Sunday Doubleheader

(ASHLAND, OH)-Thomas More University's softball team fell to Ashland on Sunday (March 24th) in a doubleheader. They fell 6-2 in game one and 4-1 in game two. The Saints overall record falls to 5-19 and 0-4 in conference.


Game 1: Ashland 6-2

• Ashland scored the games first 6 runs in the third inning to take the lead.
• In the 7th inning, first year Shelby Hill (Liberty, IN / Union County) grounds out but brings in a run for an RBI (6-1)
• Graduate student Becca Mowen (Eaton, OH / Eaton) hit an RBI single later in the inning to bring in another Saint run.

Game 2: Ashland 4-1

• Ashland scored three runs in the third inning to take a lead.
• Ashland pushed across another run in the 4th to make it 4-0.
• In the 6th inning, graduate student Hailey McAdoo (Cincinnati, OH / Mercy McAuley) singled to right field for a Saint RBI.

Game 1:

• Becca Mowen went 1-1 at the plate with an RBI.
• Junior transfer Emily Allphin (New Richmond, Ohio/Milford) was 1-3 with a double at the plate.
• Graduate student Sydney Bledsoe (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) went 1-3 with a double.
• Senior Delaney Kemper (Williamstown, Ohio/Williamstown) went 1-3 with a double.

Game 2:

• Becca Mowen went 2-3 at the plate for the game.
• Hailey McAdoo went 1-3 at the plate with an RBI.

Game 1:

• Graduate student Annika Gels (Eaton, Ohio/Eaton) pitched 3.0 innings, allowing 4 earned runs and striking out five.
• First year Olivia Dumm (Williamsport, OH / Westfall) pitched 3.0 innings, allowing only 3 hits and striking out one.

Game 2:

• First year Kylie Ropp (Bellefontaine,Ohio/Kenton Ridge) pitched 2.1 innings, allowing three earned runs off five hits and struck out three.
• Annika Gels pitched 3.2 innings, allowing one unearned run off three hits and struck out two.

The Saints return tomorrow (March 25) at Ohio Dominican in Columbus, Ohio with a double header beginning at 2:00 pm.
