Men's Basketball Sweeps Trevecca Nazarene

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Trevecca Nazarene on Thursday evening (Feb 29), 74-55. The Saints overall record improved to 16-11 and 11-8 in conference.

• Junior Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) got the Saints on the board with a layup in the first 30 seconds of the game to make it a 2-0 game.
• With 14:18 to play in the half, first year Nathan Dudukovich (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) hit a jump shot to put the Saints within two (9-12).
• Jacob Jones made a layup with 10:43 on the clock to help the Saints regain the lead (19-18).
• Senior Eliu Howard (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) banged in a 3-point shot with 7:04 to play to put the Saints up 26-24.
• Junior Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) knocked in a jump shot to extend the Saints lead to 33-28 with 2:10 left in the half.
• Sophomore Transfer Mitchell Rylee (Ft. Mitchell, Ky./Covington Catholic) drove to the rim for a layup with 1:12 on the clock to make it a 37-31 game.
• The Saints would lead 37-34 at the half over the Trojans.
• Jacob Jones led the team with 15 points (7-8) in the first half and had one rebound.
• Eli Howard led with three rebounds and had three points.
• Graduate student Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) had seven points and one rebound.
• The Saints were 56.7% (17-30) from the field, 25% (1-4) from the 3-point line, and 40% (2-5) from the free throw line.

• Nathan Dudukovich drained a 3-point basket to get things started in the second half with 19:47 on the clock (40-34).
• Jacob Jones made a jump shot with 15:01 to play to extend the Saints lead to 15 (51-36).
• With 10:54 left in the game, Casey George hit a 3-point shot to make it a 57-42 game.
• Eli Howard drained a 3-point basket to put the Saints up by 199 with 6:08 to play.
• Jacob Jones would knock in two free throws with 1:50 to play to secure the Saints victory over the Trojans.
• The Saints would defeat the Trojans 74-55.
• Reid Jolly led the team in the second half with 10 points and had one assist.
• Casey George tallied 10 rebounds to lead the team and had seven points and one assist.
• The Saints were 54.2% (13-24) from the field, 42.9% (3-7) from the 3-point line, and 80% (8-10) from the free throw line in the second half.

The Saints return to action on Saturday (March 2) for senior day and the regular season finale against Ohio Dominican at 3:00 pm ET.
