Saints Pick up the Doubleheader Sweep Over Roberts Wesleyan

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) – The Thomas More men's volleyball team swept a doubleheader against Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday (Feb. 10) evening. The Saints won the first match in four sets. They won the second match in straight sets. The Saints improve to 6-5 overall on the season.

 

GAME 1: Thomas More defeats Roberts Wesleyan, 3-1.

• Thomas More won the opening set 25 to 17.
• Roberts Wesleyan won the second set to even the match, 25 to 19.
• Thomas More won set three 25 to 14.
• Thomas More won the fourth set and the match by a score of 25 to 20.

GAME 2: Thomas More defeats Roberts Wesleyan, 3-0.

• Thomas More won the opening set 25 to 18.
• Thomas More went up 2-0 following a 25 to 22 win.
• Thomas More won the match with a set three score of 25 to 15.

 

GAME 1:

• Junior Caleb Lipscomb (Cincinnati, OH / Walnut Hills) led the Saints in kills with 9 to go along with 2 solo blocks and 3 assisted blocks.
• Senior Mason Collver (Zionsville, Ind. / Zionsville) recorded 8 kills along with 4 digs in the match.
• First year Luke Duncan (Houston, TX / Memorial Senior) and senior Eli Chambers (Eagle Rock, CA / Eagle Rock) led the team in digs with 8 a piece.
• First year Taban Kahre (Carmel, IN / Park Tudor) led the team in assists with 16 in the match.

GAME 2:

• Sophomore Noah Smith-Trondle (Hartwell, OH / Walnut Hills High School) recorded a team high in assists with 26.
• Sophomore Will Strasser (Cleves, OH / Taylor) led the Saints in digs with 10.
• Sophomore Dominic Rossi (Pittsburgh, PA / Shaler Area) led the Saints in kills with 7.

 

The Thomas More men's volleyball team returns to play on Tuesday (February 13) against Kentucky State in Frankfort, KY.  The match is set for 7:00 PM.
