Women's Basketball Comes up Short to Ursuline

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to Ursuline on Saturday afternoon (December 7), 64-57. The Saints overall record falls to 3-5 and 1-1 in conference.

• First year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, Ky./ Mercer County) knocked in two free throws start the scoring off for the Saints with 7:27 on the clock (2-2).
• Senior Callie Hunt (Trenton, Ohio/ Edgewood) drained a 3-point basket with 3:24 to play in the first quarter to put the Saints up 7-6.
• Junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, Ky./ Simon Kenton) made a 3-point shot for the Saints final basket of the quarter with 34 seconds on the clock.
• The Saints trailed 13-10 at the end of the 1st quarter.
• Sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, Ohio/East Central) made a layup for the first basket of the second quarter with 9:48 to play (12-13).
• With 5:56 to play in the second quarter, Sereniti Webb made a layup and one to make it a three point game (20-23).
• Junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, Ohio/Wheelersburg) hit a shot from behind the arch for the Saints final basket of the half to put the Saints up 30-24).
• The Saints would lead 30-27 going into the locker room at the half.
• Sereniti Webb led with nine points and had three rebounds.
• Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, Ky./Newport Central Catholic) had a team high of six rebounds and had four points and three assists.
• Anna Drakeford tallied four assists to lead the team.
• The Saints were 35.7% (10-28) from the field, 30.8% (4-13) from the 3-point line, and 100% (6-6) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Sereniti Webb laid in a layup with 7:30 left in the third quarter for the Saints first basket of the game (32-29).
• Callie Hunt drained a 3-point shot to put the Saints up 37-33 with 4:49 remaining in the third quarter.
• Rylee Turner knocked in a 3-point basket for the Saints final basket of the third quarter with 19 seconds left (45-44).
• The Saints trailed 45-46 going into the final quarter.
• Rylee Turner made a layup first the Saints first basket of the final quarter with 9:06 to play in the game (47-48).
• Laney Baker hit two free throws to make it a four point game with 7:24 on the clock (50-54).
• With 52 seconds remaining in the game Laney Baker made two free throws for the Saints final points of the game (57-62).
• The Saints would fall 64-57 to the Arrows.
• Laney Baker led with nine points in the seconds half.
• Rylee Turner followed with eight points, two rebounds, and one assist.
• Sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, Ohio/Tri-Village) had a team high of four rebounds and two assists and had three points.
• The Saints were 28.6% (8-28) from the field, 21.4% (3-14) from the 3-point line, and 88.9% (8-9) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Laney Baker led the team with 15 points.
• Rylee Turner had a team high of eight rebounds and four assists and had 12 points.
• Sereniti Webb tallied 11 points, five rebounds, and one assist.
• The Saints were 32.1% (18-56) from the field, 25.9% (7-27) from the 3-point line, and 93.3% (14-15) from the free throw line.

The Saints return Saturday (December 14) at Tiffin at 1:00 pm ET.
