Mens Basketball Falls to Cedarville on the Road

(CEDARVILLE, OH)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team took on Cedarville on Saturday (December, 7th). The Saints fell to the Yellow Jackets by a score of 82-71. Thomas More falls to an overall record of 5-2 on the season and a G-MAC record of 1-1.

• Senior Casey George (Pickerington, OH / Pickerington North) got the Saints started with a layup to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.
• Casey George continues his hot starts making two more buckets in the early stages of the first half to make it a 6-5 lead for the Saints.
• Redshirt first year Zion Crowe (Springfield, OH / Shawnee) makes a jumper and a dunk on back to back possessions to give Thomas More a 10-8 lead at the first media timeout.
• Woth 14:44 to go, redshirt first year Jack McCune (Paducah, KY / McCracken County) makes his first bucket of the game to make it a 12 to 10 game.
• McCune ends a Yellow Jacket run with a triple off an assist from junior Ryan Paris (Hilliard, OH / Hilliard Davidson) to make it a one point game.
• With 11:01 to go, first year Jashaun Pouncy (Erlanger, KY / Cooper) makes a layup to give Thomas More back the lead.
• Jack McCune drains his second three pointer of the day off an assist from Casey George to make it a 23 to 23 game.
• Jack McCune dishes the ball to junior Mitchell Rylee (Fr. Mitchell, KY / Covington Catholic) for a Thomas More dunk and giving the lead back to the Saints (27-26)
• Cedarville takes the lead into the half by a score of 34 to 27.
• Thomas More shot 12-29 (41.4%) from the field , 2-9 (22.2%) from three and 1-4 (25%) from the free throw line.
• Casey George led the Saints with 9 points in the half and a team high 5 rebounds.
• Jack McCune added 8 points off the bench and two assists.

• Sophomore Carson Browne (Cincinnati, OH / Elder) scores the first Thomas More points of the second half on a three pointer (27-36).
• Redshirt first year Kai Simpson (Lexington, KY / Fredrick Douglass) tallied his first points of the game and got fouled. After making the free throw it is an eight point game.
• Casey George tallies four straight points for the Saints to cut the Cedarville lead down to 12 with 16:38 to go.
• With 14:52 to go, Casey George finds Ryan Paris for a three pointer to make the score 50 to 40 in favor of Cedarville.
• Casey George drives the lane and makes a layup with 13:13 to go to cut it to a 7 point game (44-51).
• With 9:24 to go, Casey George tallies another bucket to keep it at a ten point game (48-58).
• Sophomore Cam McClain (Louisville, KY / Trinity) hits a three pointer with 7:30 to go off an assist from senior Wyatt Vieth (Hebron, KY / St. Henry) to make the score 63 to 55 Cedarville.
• Mitchell Rylee continue the Saint run with a layup coming out of the media timeout to make it a 6 point game with 6:58 to go.
• With 3:55 to go, Zion Crowe knocks down a three pointer off an assist from Jashaun Pouncy to make the score 69 to 62 Cedarville.
• Mitchell Rylee scores a layup with 2:26 to go to make it a 7 point game.
• Cam McClain makes a layup off an assist from Mitchell Rylee to make the score 80 to 71 with 24 seconds to go.
• Thomas More falls by a final score of 82 to 71.
• Thomas More shot 28-63 (44.4%) from the field , 6-23 (26.1%) from three and 9-17 (52.9%) from the free throw line for the game.

• Casey George led the Saints with a team high 23 points in the game, along with a team high 10 rebounds for a double-double.
• Zion Crowe finished in double figures with 11 points to go with 5 rebounds and 2 assists.
• Jack McCune tallied 10 points in the contest with 2 rebounds and 2 assists.
