Women's Basketball Comes Up Short on the Road

(UNIVERSITY CENTER, MI)- Thomas More University's women's basketball team fell to Saginaw Valley State University on Thursday (December, 19th) night by a score of 57 to 54. Thomas More falls to an overall record of 4-6 on the season.


First Half
  • Junior Rylee Turner (Newport, KY / Newport Central Catholic) scores the first Saint points of the night off an assist from sophomore Morgan Hunt (Hollansburg, OH / Tri-Village) to make it a one point game. (2-3)
  • With 6:31 to go in the opening quarter, sophomore Desiree Tandy (Danville, KY / Danville) makes a bucket to give Thomas More a 6 to 5 lead.
  • Junior Alaina Keeney (Wheelersburg, OH / Wheelersburg) ends a SVSU run with a jumper to make it a 13 to 8 game.
  • Thomas More gets buckets from first year Anna Drakeford (Harrodsburg, KY / Mercer County) and junior transfer Sereniti Webb (Covington, KY / Simon Kenton) to cut it to a four point game as we conclude the opening quarter. (12-16)
  • With 8:01 on the clock in the second quarter, sophomore Laney Baker (West Harrison, OH / East Central) makes a jumper to cut the Cardinal lead down to two. (14-16)
  • A layup from Rylee Turner and a bucker from Sereniti Webb give Thomas More an 18 to 16 lead with 5:41 to go in the half.
