(Ashland, OH)- Thomas More University's men's soccer team took on the #3 Seeded Ashland Eagles in the quarterfinal round of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournement on Saturday (November, 9th). The Saints defeated the Eagles by a score of 3 to 1 to advance to the semifinals. Thomas More moves to an overall record of 8-9-2 on the season.
- In the 32nd minute, junior Will Fox (Ely, UK / Bishop Laney) broke the scoreless game with a goal off the assists from sophomore Mauricio Medina (La Florida, Chile / Colegio Semper Altius) and graduate student Charlie Allan (Cardiff, Wales / Cardiff).
- In the 65th minute, senior Flo Meyer (Muheim, Germany / Luisenschule) put one past the keeper to push the TMU lead to 2-0.
- The Saints padded their lead in the 80th minute as senior Finn Battenstein (Düsseldorf, Germany / Martin Luther King Gesamtschule) scored off an assist from Charlie Allan.
- Ashland scored in the 87th minute to make it a 3 to 1 game.
- Charlie Allan led the Saints offense with 2 assists in the match.
- Three different Saints tallied goals in the contest.
- Junior goalie Emilio Benmergui Rodriquez (Valencia, Spain / Cumbres School) recorded 8 saves in the match.

The Saints return to action on Thursday (November, 14th) when they travel to Tiffin for the conference semifinals. They will take on the #2 seeded Findlay Oilers at 11:00 AM.
