Football Ends the Season with a Road Victory Over Lake Erie

(PAINESVILLE, OH) – The Thomas More University football team took on the Lake Erie Storm on Saturday (November, 16th) afternoon. The Saints defeated the Storm by a score of 28 to 25. The Saints finish the season with an overall record of 5-6 and 4-5 in G-MAC play.

  • Lake Erie took an early 3 to 0 lead thanks to a 42 yard field goal.
  • Redshirt freshman quarterback Griffin Scalf (Cincinnati, OH / Anderson) found junior receiver Preston Agee (Alexandria, KY / Covington Catholic) for a 31 yard touchdown to give the Saints the lead.  The junior Luke Iden (Taylor Mill, KY / Scott) PAT made it 7 to 3.
  • Lake Erie regained the lead with 4 minutes to go in the quarter with a 29 yard touchdown. The PAT made it 10 to 7.

  • Lake Erie added to their lead early in the quarter with a 13 yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 17 to 7.
  • Griffin Scalf answered the Storm touchdown by finding junior Anthony Grossnickle (Massillon, OH / Northwest) for a 24 yard score. Iden's PAT made it a 17 to 14 game.
  • Scalf recorded his third touchdown pass of the day, this time to freshman Duncan Bradley (Springfield, OH / Springfield) for a 22 yard touchdown. The PAT from Iden made it a 21 to 17 lead for the Saints at half. 
  • Thomas More extended their lead in the third with a 9 yard touchdown run by redshirt junior Jaden Hall (Springfield, OH / Shawnee). The Iden PAT made it a 28 to 17 game.

  • With 3:48 to go, Lake Erie scored on a 9 yard touchdown pass. They converted the 2-point conversion to make the score 28 to 25.

  • Griffin Scalf tallied 332 yards passing. As he completed 23 of his 37 attempts and tallied 3 touchdown passes.
  • Jaden Hall recorded 48 yards on the ground and a touchdown.
  • Duncan Bradley tallied a team high 106 yards receiving and a touchdown.

The football team will return next September for the 2025 season.
