(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY) – The Thomas More University football team fell to Northwood University on Saturday (October, 12th) by a score of 20 to 3. Thomas More falls to an overall record of 3-3 on the season and 2-2 in G-MAC competition.
- With 2:13 to go in the opening quarter, Northwood scores on a 21 yard touchdown pass. The PAT made it 7 to 0.
- Thomas More puts a nice drive together that is capped by a junior Luke Iden (Taylor Mill, KY / Scott) 43 yard field goal to make it 7 to 3.
- Northwood makes a 36 yard field goal as time expires to send the teams to halftime at 10 to 3.
- Northwood extends their lead with 1:41 to go in the quarter with a 20 yard field goal. (13-3)
- Northwood connects for a 57 yard touchdown pass. The PAT made it 20 to 3 with 12:30 to go.
- Sophomore quarterback Chase Crone (Independence, KY / Simon Kenton) got the start and threw for 176 yards. He completed 14 of his 25 passes.
- Senior Freddie Johnson (Cincinnati, OH / Colerain) led the team with 5 catches for 107 yards in the ball game.
- Redshirt freshman Elijah Manning (Louisville, KY / Male) led the defense with 12 total tackles, including 7 solo tackles.
The football team will return to action on Saturday (October, 19th) when they play host to ashland. That game is set to kick off at 12:00 PM.
