Men's Basketball Bounce Back with Win Over Malone

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Malone on Thursday evening (Jan 18), 68-57. The Saints overall record improves to 11-7 and 6-4 in conference.

• Junior Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) would hit a jumper to kick things off for the Saints with 19:19 on the clock to give the team the 2-0 lead.
• With 15:37 to play in the first half, graduate student Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) drove in for a layup to help the Saints regain the lead (9-7).
• First year Nathan Dudukovich (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) would drain a 3-point basket with 7:51 to play in the first half to put the Saints up 22-17.
• Reid Jolly would knock in a jumper with 1:10 to play for the final basket of the first half to give the Saints a 30-28 lead going into the locker room at the half.
• Reid Jolly would lead the Saints in the first half with 14 points and had one rebound and one assist.
• Junior Wyatt Vieth (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) would lead the team defensively bringing down seven rebounds and had three points and one assist.
• Junior Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) and junior Kyle Ross (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) would both record two assists each to lead the team in the first half.
• The Saints were 43.3% (13-30) from the field and 33.3% (4-12) from the 3-point line in the first half.

• Kyle Ross would bang in a 3-point shot with 19:02 to play for the first basket of the second half (33-28).
• Casey George would make back to back to back layups for the Saints with 15:08 to play to extend the Saints lead to 47-35.
• With 8:27 to play, Kyle Ross would drive to the rim for a layup to make it a 51-44 game.
• Reid Jolly would secure the 68-57 win for the Saints with a free throw with 17 seconds left to play in the game.
