Men's Basketball Defeat Lake Erie on the Road

(PAINESVILLE, Ohio)-Thomas More University's men's basketball team defeated Lake Erie on Saturday afternoon (Jan 20), 80-77. The Saints overall record improved to 12-7 and 7-4 in conference.

• Junior Casey George (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) drove to the rim for a layup to get things started for the Saints with 19:15 on the clock (2-2).
• Graduate student Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) hit a step back shot to put the Saints within two with 13:39 to play in the first half  (14-16).
• First year Nathan Dudukovich (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) drained a 3-point basket with 7:14 on the clock to extend the Saints lead to 34-27.
• First year Carson Browne (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) made a 3-point shot with 1:38 in the half for the Saints final basket of the half (44-40).
• The Saints would trail by one at the half (44-45).
• Reid Jolly led the Saints with 14 points in the first half and had two rebounds.
• Casey George would lead the team with four assists and had 10 points and two rebounds.
• Nathan Dudukovich recorded eight points and one assist.
• Junior Kyle Ross (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) tallied five rebounds to lead the team and had seven points.
• The Saints were 57.6% (19-33) from the field, 33.3% (3-9) from the 3-point line, and 100% (3-3) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Kyle Ross made one free throw to kick things off in the second half with 19:35 on the clock to tie the game up at 45-45.
• With 10:54 to play, junior Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) knocked in two free throws to put the Saints with in four (55-59).
• Reid Jolly drove to the basket with 5:57 in the game to tie the game up at 66-66.
• Casey George would make a free throw for the final point of the game with three seconds on the clock for the Saints 80-77 win over the Storm.
• Kyle Ross led the team in the second half with 15 points and six rebounds and had one assist.
• Reid Jolly followed with 12 points and four rebounds.
• Casey George led the Saints with three assists and had five rebounds and four points in the second half.
• The Saints were 40% (12-30) from the field, 25% (3-12) from the 3-point line, and 60% (9-15) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Reid Jolly led with 26 points and had six rebounds.
• Kyle Ross recorded his first double double of the season to lead the Saints with 11 rebounds and had 21 points and one assist.
• Casey George tallied seven assists to lead the team for a season high and had 14 points and seven rebounds.
• Nathan Dudukovich had 12 points and one assist.
• The Saints were 49.2% (31-63) from the field, 28.6% (6-21) from the 3-point line, and 66.7% (12-18) from the free throw line.

The Saints return to action on Thursday (Jan 25) against Walsh at 6:00 pm ET in North Canton, Ohio.
