(GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team lost to the NCAA Division II Davenport University Panthers Saturday afternoon on the road, 20-5. The loss drops the Saints to 6-8 overall this season.
- McKenzie Mobley (Harrison, Ohio/Harrison) got the scoring started with a goal just under two minutes into the contest that was assisted by Meg Pierani (Bright, Ind./Mercy McAuley).
- The Panthers then scored five unanswered goals to put them ahead 5-1 in the second quarter.
- Gracey Robinson (Lebanon, Ohio/Lebanon) halted the Saints scoring drought with a goal with 9:36 remaining in the first half off an assist from Madi Carle (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) that made the score 5-2.
- Davenport scored seven more goals to make the halftime score 12-3 after Lexi Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) was assisted by Pierani to score a goal with 1:47 left in the half.
- Mobley added her second goal just 33 seconds into the second half off Pierani's third assist of the day to push the score to 12-4.
- Thomas More would score one more goal throughout the rest of the game as Pierani set up Kendra Yurt (Louisville, Ky./Mercy) for a strike with 10:04 remaining in the game.
- Pierani recorded her eighth game with multiple assists this season.
- This was Mobley's ninth multiple-goal game this season.
- Pierani (4) and Mobley (2) led the Saints in points.
- Eva Kinwel (Arnhem, Netherlands/Beekdal Lyceum) led the team with four ground balls and two caused turnovers.
- Jaya Jensen (Metairie, La./Cabrini) had 11 saves, her second game this season with double-digit saves.
The Saints return home for their final three games of the regular season. They play the No. 5 ranked University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) Patriots on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. on Republic Bank Field.
