Women's Lacrosse Drops to #2 Cumberlands

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – The Thomas More University women's lacrosse team lost to #2 Cumberlands (Ky.) on Thursday (April, 13th) afternoon. Saints fall to 6-9 on the season. 

 

• Cumberlands opened the game with 5 straight goals. (0-5)
• First year Meg Pierani (Bright, Ind. / Mercy McAuley) scored an unassisted goal to get Thomas More on the scoreboard. (1-5)
• Cumberlands would go on to score 6 more goals to take a 10 goal lead. (1-11)
• Sophomore Gracey Robinson (Lebanon, Ohio / Lebanon) scored to end the Patriot run in the second quarter. (2-11)
• Cumberlands would extend their lead with 8 more goals. (2-19)
• Gracey Robinson would score and would find sophomore  Eva Kinwel (Arnhem, Netherlands / Beekdal Lyceum) for another Saint goal. (4-19)
• Cumberlands would score 4 more goals as we entered the 4th quarter. (4-23)
• Meg Pierani would again find the back of the net for another Saint goal. (5-23)
• Cumberlands would score another goal in the final minutes. (5-24)

 

• Meg Pierani recorded 2 goals for the Saints to go with 4 draw controls.
• Gracey Robinson tallied 2 goals and an assist with a caused turnover.
• Junior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mercy McAuley) recorded 4 caused turnovers and 4 ground balls for the Saints.
• Eva Kinwel had a goal with a draw control in the contest.

 

The Saints will return to action on Saturday (April, 15th) when the host the Georgetown Tigers at Republic Bank Field. That game is set to begin at 1:00 PM ET.
