Nine Different Saints Score in Women's Lacrosse Victory Over Hanover

(HANOVER, Ind.) - The women's lacrosse team at Thomas More defeated Hanover by a score of 16 to 5 on Thursday (April, 6th) afternoon. The Saints move to 6-7 overall on the season. 

• Junior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mercy McAuley) got the Saints started with a goal off an assist from junior Kendra Yurt (Louisville, Ky. / Mercy). (1-0)
• First year Meg Pierani (Bright, Ind. / Mercy McAuley) followed with a goal off an assist from sophomore Gracey Robinson (Lebanon, Ohio / Lebanon) to extend the Saints lead. (2-0)
• Kendra Yurt scored an unassisted goal to make it a three goal lead for Thomas More. (3-0)
• Hanover scored midway thru the first quarter to cut into the TMU lead. (3-1)
• First year Rachel Blevins (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) got a pass from Gracey Robinson and scored to extend the Saint lead. (4-1)
• Hanover ended the first quarter with another goal to make it a 2 goal game. (4-2)
• Kendra Yurt scored off an assist from Meg Pierani to get the second quarter started. (5-2)
• Sophomore Eva Kinwel (Arnhem, Netherlands / Beekdal Lyceum) found the back of the net off an assist from Gracey Robinson. (6-2)
• First year Sarah Metz (Middletown, Ohio / Little Miami) scored off an assist from Madi Carle to end the first half. (7-2)
• Kendra Yurt and junior Mckenzie Mobley (Harrison, Ohio / Harrison) both score to open the second half for the Saints. (9-2)
• First year Lexi Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) got a pass from Meg Pierani and scored to make it an 8 goal game. (10-2)
• Gracey Robinson and Meg Pierani each score to extend the lead for Thomas More. (12-2)
• Gracey Robinson finds both Eva Kinwel and Kendra Yurt before scoring her own goal for Thomas More. (15-2)
• Hanover scores twice midway thru the fourth quarter. (15-4)
• Sarah Metz scored an unassisted goal with 7 minutes to go. (16-4)
• Hanover scored in the final minutes of the game. (16-5)

• Junior Dani Carle (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mercy McAuley) led the team with 7 caused turnovers to go with 3 ground balls.

Women's lacrosse return to action on Saturday (April, 8th) when they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan to take on Davenport. That game is set to begin at 1:00 PM ET.
