(MIDWAY, Ky.) – The Thomas More University baseball team hit the road for a game with the Midway University Eagles Wednesday afternoon, losing 6-0. The Saints are now 10-9 overall this season.
- The Eagles scored three runs in the first and fifth innings.
- In the fifth, the Saints had a runner on second with one out, but couldn't bring him in.
- They also had a runner on second in the first, fourth and seventh innings.
- Brady Baldock (Burlington, Ky./St. Henry) led the Saints with two hits, while five other Saints had one hit in the contest.
- Three other Saints reached base with a walk.
- Tony Spangler (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) tossed three innings, allowing three runs, but none of them were earned.
- Spangler struck out one.
- Hunter Nantz (London, Ky./North Laurel) allowed three runs in 1.2 innings, striking out three.
- Jack Perdue (Louisville, Ky./Christian Academy), Conner Ryle (Union, Ky./Larry A. Ryle/Frontier Community College), and Justin Bierbaum (Bridgetown, Ohio/La Salle) shut the Eagles out through the rest of the game, only allowing a single hit.
- They all struck out one batter a piece.
The Saints will be in Tennessee this weekend for a three-game series with the Freed-Hardeman University Lions in Mid-South Conference play. They play one game Friday at 6:00 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Last season, they won two of three games against Freed-Hardeman at home.
