Robinson Scores 6 as Women's Lacrosse Takes Down MSJ

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) - The women's lacrosse team at Thomas More defeated the Mount Saint Joseph Lions on Wednesday (March 22nd) night by a score of 20 to 8. Sophomore Gracey Robinson (Lebanon, Ohio / Lebanon) led the Saints with 6 goals on the evening. 

How they scored

  • Gracey Robinson got the Saints started with an unassisted goal to put them out in front. (1-0)
  • Junior Kendra Yurt (Louisville, Ky. / Mercy) scored 3 straight Saint goals, two coming off assists from first year Meg Pierani (Bright, Ind. / Mercy McAuley) to give the Saints a 4 goal advantage. (4-0)
  • Gracey Robinson and junior Mckenzie Mobley (Harrison, Ohio / Harrison) each scored unassisted goals to extend the TMU lead. (6-0)
  • MSJ scored to cut the lead to 5 with 3:50 to go in the opening quarter. (6-1)
  • Mckenzie Mobley scored her second goal of the evening to extend the Saint lead. (7-1)
  • MSJ answered with 2 goals to make it a 4 goal game. (7-3)
  • Mckenzie Mobley scored her third goal of the opening quarter to give TMU a 5 goal lead after the first. (8-3)
  • Meg Pierani opened the next quarter with her first goal of the game to make it a 6 goal lead. (9-3)
  • Senior Sarah Metz (Middletown, Ohio / Little Miami) caught a pass from Gracey Robinson and scored to extend the TMU lead. (10-3)
  • Gracey Robinson would then score an unassisted goal with 10:18 to go in the half to put the Saints up 8. (11-3)
  • MSJ would answer with a goal of their own. (11-4)
  • Gracey Robinson would score her 4th goal of the game in the closing minutes of the opening half. (12-4)
  • Junior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mercy McAuley) scored off an assist from first year Lexi Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) to extend the lead in the second half. (13-4)
  • Gracey Robinson found Meg Pierani who scored another Saints goal to put them up 10. (14-4)
  • MSJ scored off a TMU penalty with 3:37 to go in the third. (14-5)

Women's lacrosse return to action on Saturday (March 25th) when they host Franklin College at Republic Bank Field. That game is set to start at 1:00 PM ET.
