(CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.) – The Thomas More University men's volleyball team lost a road contest Thursday night to the Campbellsville University Tigers, 3-2 (20-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-17, 15-6). This drops the Saints to 9-5 overall and 3-3 in the Mid-South Conference.
- The Saints jumped out to a 15-10 lead in the first set, after a Dominic Rossi (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler) kill.
- The lead would grow to 20-13.
- Caleb Lipscomb (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills/St. Francis Brooklyn College) had two kills over the final five points that led to a Saints set victory.
- The Tigers led 17-12 in set two before Thomas More used a 4-0 run to cut the lead to one.
- Three of the four points for the Saints came on kills.
- Thomas More couldn't get over the hump to tie the set and went into set three tied at 1-1.
- The Saints jumped on the Tigers in the third, getting off to a 12-4 start.
- They used several Tiger mistakes to fuel this rally.
- The closest Campbellsville would come to tying the set was within three points, as Thomas More took a 2-1 match lead.
- Campbellsville was ahead early and often in set four en route to tying the match.
- The Saints led the Tigers 4-3 in the fifth, but a 10-0 Tiger run that was led by five aces doomed Thomas More as they dropped it 15-6.
- Lipscomb led the Saints with a season-high 14 kills on 20 swings. He also led the team with six block assists.
- Conner Young (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) had 21 assists while Eli Chambers (Eagle Rock, Calif./Eagle Rock/Santa Monica College) dished out 18.
- Jonathan Litzler (Edgewood, Ky./St. Henry) tied a season-high with 14 digs.
