Women's Lacrosse Drops in High Scoring Game At Madonna

(LIVONIA, Mich.) - The women's lacrosse team at Thomas More fell to Madonna by a score of 14-12 on Saturday afternoon (March 11th). The Saints fall to an overall record of 1-6 on the season.

• Madonna got on the scoreboard first to take the early lead. (1-0)
• First year Meg Pierani (Bright, Ind. / Mercy McAuley) scored her team high 16th goal of the season to tie it up. (1-1)
• Madonna answered with another goal to take back the lead. (2-1)
• Sophomore Gracey Robinson (Lebanon, Ohio / Lebanon) scored her first goal of the contest to tie it back up. (2-2)
• Madonna scored in the final seconds of the first quarter to take back the lead. (3-2)
• Madonna scored to open the second quarter to extend their lead. (4-2)
• Junior Madi Carle (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mercy McAuley) scored a goal midway thru the quarter to cut the Madonna lead to one. (4-3)
• Madonna scored 3 straight goals to take a 4 goal lead. (7-3)
• Meg Pierani scored right before halftime to get the Saints closer. (7-4)
• Madonna opened the second half with 2 more goals. (9-4)
• Junior Kendra Yurt (Louisville, Ky. / Mercy) scored her first goal of the day to make it a 4 goal game. (9-5)
• Madonna answered to push it back to a 5 goal game. (10-5)
• Meg Pierani scored her third goal of the contest midway thru the third quarter. (10-6)
• Madonna answered with 9:46 to go in the third. (11-6)
• Gracey Robinson scored back to back goals, one being assisted by first year Lexi Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) to draw the Saints closer. (11-8)
• Kendra Yurt scored her second goal of the game off an assist from Meg Pierani to make it a 2 goal game. (11-9)
• Gracey Robinson scored her 4th goal of the afternoon with 3 minutes to go in the third quarter to make it a one goal game. (11-10)
• Madonna scored three straight goals to extend their lead. (14-10)
• Gracey Robinson and Meg Pierani each scored goals in the final minutes to draw the Saints within 2. (14-12)

• Gracey Robinson recorded 5 goals, 2 ground balls and a caused turnover to lead the Saints.
• Meg Pierani tallied 4 goals, an assist, 4 ground balls and a caused turnover.
• Kendra Yurt had 2 goals and 4 ground balls.
