(CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky.) – The Thomas More University baseball team drops both games of Friday's doubleheader against the Tigers of Campbellsville. Thomas More drops to an overall record of 7-7, along with a Mid South Conference record of 1-2. The Tigers took game one 3-2 in extra innings. In game two the Tiger's would go on to win 14-2.
Game 1:
- In the top of the first inning, sophomore Brennan Martin (Cincinnati, Ohio / Elder) singled to left field to bring home sophomore Gavin Vogelgesang (Cincinnati, Ohio / St. Xavier) to make it 1-0 in favor of the Saints.
- Campbellsville scored 2 runs in the second inning to take a 2-1 lead.
- Gavin Vogelgesang singled to right field to bring home junior Brady Baldock (Burlington, Ky. / St. Henry) to tie the game at 2 runs a piece in the 5th inning.
- Campbellsville breaks the tie in the 9th inning with a walk-off double to win 3-2.
Game 2:
- Senior Derek Atwood (Burlington, Ky. / Conner) put the Saints out in front in the first inning with a single to bring home Vogelgesang.
- Campbellsville tied the game 1-1 in the first.
- In the third inning, Campbellsvile scored again to make it 2-1.
- Campbellsville plates 3 runs in the 4th inning to make it 5-1.
- Cambellsville scores 4 runs in the 5th inning to make it 9-1.
- Campbellsville scores 5 runs in the 6th inning ot make it 14-1.
- Atwood gets an RBI in the 7th inning for bringing home junior Gavin Pearson (Burlington, Ky. / Conner) to make it 14-2.

- Junior Mason Berger (Cincinnati, Ohio / Elder) got the start as he threw 4.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 4.
- Sophomore Austin Dennis (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) pitched 4.1 innings of relief, allowing 1 run on 4 hits and striking out 6.
Game 2:
- Junior Landon Scott (Independence, Ky. / Simon Kenton) got the start and went 3.0 innings for the Saints. He allowed 5 runs on 5 hits, striking out 2.
- First year Kellen Sandhas (Cincinnati, Ohio / Elder) pitched 1.0 innings, allowing 0 runs and 1 hit.
- Fifth year Justin Bierbaum (Bridgetown, Ohio / LaSalle) pitched 1.0 innings, allowing 4 runs on 4 hits.
- First year Tony Spangler (Springboro, Ohio / Springboro) pitched 0.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits, and recording a strikeout.
- Sophomore Jackson Grimmelsman (Cincinnati, Ohio / Elder) pitched 0.1 innings, allowing no hits and no runs.
The Saints are back on the diamond on Tuesday (February 28th) when the take on Goshen in some midweek action at Thomas More Stadium in Florence. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. ET.
