No. 2 Seed Women's Basketball Falls to No. 7 Seed Shawnee State in MSC Tournament Quarterfinals

(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.)-No. 2 seed Thomas More University women's basketball team fell to No. 7 seed Shawnee State on Friday evening (February 24) 81-79 in the Quarterfinals if the MSC Tournament. The Saints overall record falls to 26-3.

First Half
  • Senior Courtney Hurst (Burlington, Ky./Conner) drained a 3-point basket to start things off for the Saints with 9:23 to go in the first quarter (3-2).
  • Junior Alex Smith (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mercy McAuley) made a layup with 5:34 to play in the first quarter, to extend the Saints lead to 11-4.
  • Junior Maggie Jones (Piner, Ky./Simon Kenton) knocked in a 3-point shot, for the Saints final basket of the quarter with 2:36 to play.
  • The Saints led 17-14 going into the second quarter.
  • Junior Mattison Vickers (Covington, Ky./Simon Kenton) hit a jump shot to kick off the scoring for the Saints in the second quarter with 8:31 to go (20-18).
