Men's Basketball Closes Out 2023 With Road Win Over ODU

(COLUMBUS, OH)-Thomas More University men's basketball team defeated Ohio Dominican on Saturday afternoon (Dec 30), 61-50. The Saints overall record improves to 9-4 and 4-1 in conference.

• Junior Jacob Jones (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) kicked things off for the Saints in the first half, driving to the rim for a layup to put the team on the board 2-0 with 19:51 on the clock.
• With 14:38 to play in the half, junior Kyle Ross (St. John, Ind./Lake Central) knocked in a 3-point shot to make it a 12-4 game.
• Graduate student Reid Jolly (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) drained in a 3-point basket with 7:28 to play to put the Saints up 22-9.
• First year Nathan Dudukovich (West Chester, Ohio/Lakota West) made a free throw for the final point of the first half with three seconds to play to put the Saints up 29-22 at the half.
• Jacob Jones led the team in the first half with eight points and one assist and had one rebound.
• Casey George also tallied one assist to lead the team and had seven points and one rebound.
• Reid Jolly led defensively with five rebounds and had six points.
• The Saints were 37.5% (12-32) from the field, 30.8% (4-13) from the 3-point line, and 33.3% (1-3) from the free throw line in the first half.

• Reid Jolly made a 3-point shot to start the Saints off on an 8-0 run in the second half with19:29 on the clock (32-22).
• First year Cam McClain (Louisville, Ky./Louisville Trinity) hit a 3-pointer to extend the Saints lead to 49-32 with 9:36 to play.
• With 4:37 to play, junior Wyatt Vieth (Hebron, Ky./St. Henry) drove to the rim for a layup to make it a 53-40 game.
• Jacob Jones would make the Saints final basket of the game with 35 seconds left to secure the Saints win (61-48).
• The Saints would win 61-50 over ODU.
• Reid Jolly led the team across the board in the second half with 15 points, five rebounds, and two assists.
• Cam McClain recorded five points in the second half.
• Kyle Ross had four points and four rebounds.
• The Saints were 44.83% (13-29) from the field, 50% (5-10) from the 3-point line, and 25% (1-4) from the free throw line in the second half.

• Reid Jolly recorded his second double double of the season and 17th of his career with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and had two assists and two steals.
• Jacob Jones led with three assists and had 10 points and four rebounds.
• Casey George also recorded three assists to lead the team and had 10 points and three rebounds.
• Kyle Ross had seven points, six rebounds, and one assist.
• The Saints were 41% (25-61) from the field, 39.1% (9-23) from the 3-point line, and 28.6% (2-7) from the free throw line.
