Ali Kazim Nakhid Collects the Hat Trick as Saints Down the Panthers

(CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY)-Thomas More University men's soccer team defeated the Ohio Dominican Pathers on Tuesday (October, 31st) evening. The Saints were led by graduate student Ali Kazim Nakhid (Beirut, Lebanon / City International) who recorded three goals in the contest. The Saints finish the regular season with an overall record of 9-7-2 and a Great Midwest Athletic Conference record of 7-5-2.

How they scored
  • The Saints struck first on a goal from Ali Kazim Nakhid in the third minute to make it 1-0.
  • Senior Ben Oliver (Eckington, England / Hartpury) added to that hot start with a goal in the 4th minute off assists from first year Balthasar Zimmerman (Munich, Germany / Theodolinden) and junior Flo Meyer (Mulheim, Germany / Luisenschule).
  • Ali Kazim Nakhid again finds the net on a deep goal. This time off an assist from senior Ryan Albrinck (Harrison, OH / LaSalle) to make it a 3-0 lead.
  • Ohio Dominican scored right before half to make it 3-1 at the break.
  • Coming out of the half, Balthasar Zimmerman scored off an assist from Ben Oliver to make it 4-1.
  • Seconds later first year Karim Slim (Beirut, Lebanon / College Louise Wegman) scored off an assist from redshirt sophomore Matthaus Buechner (Goshen, OH / Goshen) to make it a 4 goal lead for the Saints.
  • Ohio Dominican scored in the 54th minute to make it a 5-2 match.
  • Ali Kazim Nakhid found the goal for a third time this time coming off assists from senior Sondre Taklo (Aalesund, Norway / Akademiet Videregaaende Skole) and sophomore Jule van Egmond (Amsterdam, Netherlands / St. Nicolaaslyceum).
  • Julen van Egmond then scored his own goal in the 72nd minute to make it a 7-2 game off an assist from first year Serge Nkomeza (Lexington, KY / Bryan Station).
