Box Score (ASHLAND, OH) - The Thomas More football team lost at Ashland University on Saturday (October, 28th) afternoon by a score of 28 to 20. The Saints fall to 4-5 overall on the season and 3-4 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.
- Thomas More scored first on a redshirt junior Rae'Von Vaden (Louisville, KY / Marion C. Moore) touchdown pass to sophomore tight end Mike Kirch (Cincinnati, OH / Elder). Sophomore Luke Iden (Taylor Mill, KY / Scott) made the PAT to make it 7-0 Thomas More.
- Luke Iden then makes a 40 yard field goal to make it 10-0 Thomas More.
- Ashland would answer to score three touchdowns in the quarter to take a 21-10 lead into the half.
- Luke Iden would make a 41 yard field goal to get Thomas More with 8 (21-13) midway thru the third.
- Ashland scored a touchdown in the opening minutes of the fourth to extend their lead to 28 to 13.
- Junior Freddie Johnson (Cincinnati, OH / Colerain) scored on a 14 yard touchdown catch, thrown by Vaden. Iden's kick made it a 28-20 game.
- Vaden finished the game with 183 yards in the air and 2 touchdowns and 45 yards on the ground.
- First year Evan Brown (Lexington, KY / Lexington Christian Academy) saw 6 catches for 53 yards.
- Kirch recorded 47 yards receiving and a touchdown.
- Graduate student Del Thomas (Fairfield, OH / Fairfield) led the defense with 13 total tackles in the game, and a fumble recovery.
The football team will return to action next Saturday (November, 4th) when they travel to Midland, MI to take on Northwood University. Kick-off is set for 1:00 PM.
