Saints Top Walsh to Pick Up Road Victory

(NORTH CANTON, OH)-Thomas More University men's soccer team defeated Walsh on Thursday evening (October 12th), 2-1. The Saints overall record improves to 6-6-1 and 4-4-1 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference play.

• In the 31st minute, graduate student Ali Kazim Nakhid (Beirut, Lebanon / City International) scored to give the Saints the lead. Senior Sondre Taklo (Aalesund, Norway / Akademiet Videregaaende Skole) recorded the assist.
• In the 49th minute, first year Karim Slim (Beirut, Lebanon / College Louise Wegman) added to the Thomas More lead with a goal that was assisted by junior Finn Battenstein (Düsseldorf, Germany / Martin Luther King Gesamtschule).
• Walsh scored in the 85th minute to make it a 2-1 game.

• Sondre Taklo tallied a shot on goal and an assist for the Saints.
• Karim Slim and Ali Kazim Nakhid scored the two goals for Thomas More.
• Finn Battenstein tallied an assist in the match.
• Redshirt senior Thomas Wolfe (Marysville, OH / Marysville) and senior Charlie Allan (Cardiff, Wales / Cardiff) each recorded a shot on goal.
• First year Balthasar Zimmerman (Munich, Germany / Theodolinden) and first year Adam Morris (Union, KY / Cooper) each recorded a shot on goal for Thomas More.
