(Crestview Hills, KY) – The Thomas More University women's volleyball team won their fourth straight match Tuesday night, defeating Georgetown College 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-14) and moving to 3-0 in the Mid-South Conference and 9-6 overall.
How It Happened
The Saints got off to a quick start in set one, taking a 10-3 lead and forcing a Tiger timeout. A pair of
Sydney Hilderbran kills led the charge for the Saints. Their lead would grow to 24-13 before Georgetown tried to make a late push. The Tigers rattled off five straight points, including a trio of aces but it wasn't enough as Thomas More took the set and a 1-0 match lead.
The Saints jumped out to another quick lead in set two, with a 13-6 advantage drawing a Georgetown timeout. A pair of
Sam McClanahan kills led the way during the run. The Saints lead would grow throughout the rest of the set as they grabbed a 2-0 match lead.
Thomas More held a 9-2 lead in the final set, with two
Ally Albrinck kills fueling the rally. However, the Tigers would cut it to four at 12-8, but that was as close as they would get. The Saints took the set 25-14 and swept the match, their third sweep during their four-match winning streak.
